Sure can! Simply select ‘Pick up in store’ when you order, and select the day you will pick up your cake. You will not be charged a delivery fee. You can pick up Monday – Friday 7am – 7pm; Saturday 9am – 12pm

Absolutely. Luckily, our Chocolate cake is choc full of chocolate, and coated with a real chocolate Ganache. Before you cut the cake, the Ganache helps to protect the Chocolate cake and helps prevent the cake from drying out or going stale. The cake can absolutely be left in a cool area for 2-3 days and will remain perfectly fresh and delicious.

Once the cake has been cut, we recommend that the cake be consumed within 3 days.

We don’t recommend that you refrigerate your cake - because it will slowly dry out the cake and make it very firm. However, if you do store it in the fridge wrap it in glad wrap to slow down the drying effect. Also, make sure you remove the cake from the fridge at least 4 hours before eating – to get the original yummy Chocolate Cake taste – this is super important!

No, you’ll need to place separate orders for each delivery address. Alternatively, if you have many cakes you wish to order, then you can email us with which cakes you would like for each delivery address and we can organise the order for you. Please email us at: info@thechocolatecakecompany.co.nz

Because we bake daily, we almost always have a small number of cakes available for pick up. If you order online the website will automatically outline to you when the particular cake you are ordering can be couriered to you, or picked up in store. Our classic range of cakes can always be fragile courier delivered next day, or picked up same day if you order before 2pm. Our designer cakes need extra work and as such generally need 24 hours notice. Please dont hesitate to call us on (09) 274-4924 if you are unsure.

We bake gluten free dark chocolate mud cakes Unless specified, our cakes do not contain nuts, however, they may contain traces of nuts.

The serving sizes below are for a good sized serving.

8" serves 10-12
10" serves 16-20
12" serves 25-30
12"+10" stack serves 40-50
12"+10"+8" stack serves 50-60

While we endeavor to fit as much writing on our cakes as we can, due to size and other decorations there is usually a limit to what we can do. Below is a guideline, please also note these are dependent on word length.

8": 4-6 words
10": 5-7 words
12": 6-10 words

For stack cakes, use the guideline above for the smallest cake size.

Our cakes remain at their best for up to 4-5 days. If uncut the ganache will help preserve the cake and also prevent it from drying out. Once the cake has been cut, we recommend that the cake be consumed within 2-3 days. We do not recommend that you refrigerate your cake, because it will slowly dry out the cake and make it very firm. To order through the website, simply chose the cake you would like to order from the cakes menu, and select all of the options. once you have added the cake to your cart you will get an option to go to the checkout. Once you follow through all the steps in the check out you will be able to pay by credit card.

Yes we do deliver, we use fragile courier delivery. Our standard delivery areas are listed below

Outer Auckland charges are automatically calculated for you.

Yes we do but you cannot book these on our website. Please contact us directly for all nationwide deliveries. Also, because our nationwide deliveries are done by courier service we are only able to deliver our traditional cakes without any decoration (outside of Auckland).

You can enter instructions into the order comments box, we will pass these on, however we cannot guarantee specific delivery times or contact prior to delivery.

We do not include the sender name on our deliveries. If you would like to let the recipient know who the generous cake giver is we can include a note with the delivery card, you can enter this message in the order comments box at checkout.

2. Order by Telephone: Once you have decided upon one of our delicious cakes from our online store, simply make a note of which cake you would like and call us on (09) 274-4924. We’ll take care of the rest!

For residential orders your cake will arrive on the chosen date between 9am and 2pm. If you prefer a later time, we can get your cake delivered for most areas of Auckland between 12 midday and 6pm, just let us know in the ‘additional information’ section when you order online.

For business orders, your Cake will arrive between 11am and 5pm. If you would like your cake to arrive before 11am for a morning tea celebration (Tues-Fri), please just let us know in the ‘additional information section when you order your cake online.

Our Classic Chocolate Mud Cake can be ordered up until 10am for same day delivery/pickup. All other Classic Cakes need to be ordered one weekday (24 hours) in advance. All Designer cakes need to be ordered 2 weekdays (48 hours) in advance.
